The kids are always saying fun things and I'm forever forgetting to write them down. Here's a few I collected from the past few weeks:
We were playing the game "How's Yours?" and the subject was easter baskets. Carter was it and he asked me how mine was. My answer was I hadn't seen it since I was a kid. His immediate guess was "your vacuum?" (Ouch, so housekeeping isn't my favorite thing but I didn't think I was that bad!)
Eve: Here Mom, dees (these) is for you. (Gives me a half-eaten cookie). I took some bites. Is that OK?
Mom: Sure hun.
Eve: You didn't want them all anyway.
Lydia (talking to Eve & cousin Allison Page): If you read lots of books then you'll become smart. You'll get a good job and you'll make a lot of money . . . (pause) and your life will be perfect.
Eve: I drawed a hippy-potamus.
The kids were at Grandma Matheson's one afternoon and when they got home I was asking them about what they'd done.
Kids: We played anchovies
Me: You mean sardines?
Kids: Ya, I knew it was one of those little fish.
