Fun, Fun, Fun . . .

The first week of April was busy with lots of comings and goings.  On Monday the main event was a trip to the doctor to confirm that Carter did indeed have strep throat.  Luckily, he had kept it to himself --way to go Carter!  Tuesday Alex and I went to a potluck with some old friends.  Courtney Schaeler (now ?) and family moved to Brazil this month so it was a goodbye event for her.  We got to talk with Tina & family as well as Scott and Ruth (Gordon) Potter.  We had a good time.

Wednesday Brad and Carter had an extra fun time at scouts.  Brad & crew got to do some outdoor cooking which was a big hit.  Carter's bunch learned about music and then got to make Easter egg rice krispy treats to bring home and share.  We were all very appreciative of them.  Meanwhile, Alex got to work late while the girls and I entertained the new sister missionaries for dinner.  Thursday was Roundtable for me while Alex and the boys were off to the Easter Pageant with our friends Shannon & Dennis Freeman and the girls got to hang with Grandma & Grandpa Matheson.

Friday Alex held down the fort while I went to the temple in the morning and shopped the afternoon away with Karina.  It was fun sister time for me.  It was also a heavy responsibility because I think this is only the 2nd clothes shopping trip Karina has ever willingly gone on (both having happened after meeting a certain someone in February).  I didn't want to ruin shopping for her -- plus I had to quietly convince her to get the clothes that I wanted to borrow.  : )  Thanks Karina for coming to visit me -- I loved it --by the way, customarily little sisters do let their big sisters borrow their clothes.  (K- I'm sure you're impressed at how I worked that word in there).  Friday evening Karina was super nice and babysat while Alex and I hit Carabbas with our friends Alan and Rebecca McHood.

In between my outings on Friday we were lucky enough to get to host Aunt Michelle and cousin Sadie along with Great-Grandpa Mac Matheson for lunch.  Grandpa brought Grandma Ouida May's jewelry box and let us all pick a little something to keep as a momento.  Of course the girls had to try everything on.

Brad and his shoe pin.  I think Carter chose a flag pin.

Eve got a butterly pin.

Lydia went straight for the earrings although I think she ended up getting a different pair than these.

Sadie tries out a corn-kernel necklace and some cool clip-ons.
