Happy Birthday Lydia-Lou!

Lydia turned 6 on Saturday the 21st.  She had a fun birthday week with a super fun shopping date with Grandma Matheson on Friday and then a package in the mail today from Grandma Sue with lots of art supplies that she's put to good use.  On Saturday we opened presents in the morning and then got ready for her birthday party.  She wanted a swimming party so we had it at Grandma & Grandpa Matheson's house.  The pool was a little chilly for my taste but the kids had a great time.

Lydia is such an awesome part of our family.  She is fun, smart, a great artist, dancer & chef and she is also a great big sister.  Her peace-making skills are a huge help with her little sisters.  She loves princesses, Star Wars, swimming, dancing, chocolate, shopping, and lots of friends.  We love Lydia!

In other news of the week, Alex gave his first presentation on implants to the public.  He had a great time (as evidenced by the big smile on his face when he got home).  He also got to go to an implant CE class and operate on a pigs jaw -- again, loads of fun . . . for him.   Sunday the 15th we enjoyed a fun family get-together at the Lee's for the Dustin & Gina Wilkins which was also a birthday party for two of their boys.  It was fun to see them.  This Sunday, the 22nd we had Frank & Hope Brooks over for dinner and a had a good time.
Carter, Brad, Eve, Lydia.  Our rose bushes are in full bloom and Carter chose a few choice ones to give to Lydia for her birthday.

Camille, Eve, Lydia, Brad, Carter.  The jewelry making kit Brad gave Lydia was a big hit.  They spent part of the morning making rings to give to Lydia's friends at the birthday party.

Kati Smith, Eve, Keslie Gledhill, Kylee Rapier, Lydia, Carter and Bo Smith enjoy a snow cone while drying off on the trampoline.  Kylie Cooper & Mikayla Nickles also were able to come to the party.

The Lee's ice shaving machine was a big hit -- especially with the non-swimming moms.  Erica Gledhill & Alicen Rapier demonstrate.

Camille , the two-fisted sucker eater preferred the warmer of the two pools.

Lydia & Bo Smith check out the presents.

The birthday cake.  Lydia wanted a brown cake ("like dirt") and then suckers that looked like flowers.
Saturday afternoon we spent some credit we had at Costco stocking up our pantry/food storage.  Unfortately Camille & Eve got to the flour first.  As I cleaned it up I kept thinking, "I'm so grateful for vacuums!"
