It was parent/teacher conferences at school last week.  Lydia, Carter & Brad all are doing great in school.  Yay!  The kids got out an hour early every day for the whole week.  I loved having them home for that extra amount of time.  Last Tuesday we had the Rodger family over for dinner and a guitar lesson for Alex.  Alex has known them for a while but it was the first time the rest of us met them and we had a really fun time.  On Friday, Alex spent the day and half the night helping out with the Desert Twilight cross-country races.  Our friends, the Hardts run it and asked him to help out.  He helped with set up and take-down and spent all afternoon-evening at the finish line.  There were 3500 racers and the volunteer job on the finish line is to clap, cheer, carry (the ones who are about to faint) and keep them moving (pukers to the fence and non-pukers to get water).  I brought him dinner that evening and he wouldn't touch it until I found some hand sanitizer.  He had a good time though.

Poor Camille had a fever for the first half of the week and then an ear infection.  She also took a few tumbles on the stairs.  She loves to crawl into our music room whenever I'm not looking and start dinking on the piano (she can just barely reach it) but she has to pass the top of the stairs to get there.  Smart girl that she is though, she now keeps her distance from them.

On Saturday Carter had a football game.  He made a great catch and ran for a touchdown as well as several good defensive plays.  Saturday and Sunday were also General Conference with great talks as usual.  The Stephensons were at Grandma and Grandpa Mathesons so we got together with them Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon which was fun.  Alex and Adam went with Jay Lee to the Alameda Bldg for the Priesthood session so that they could make a quick exit to the ASU game afterwards.
Lydia and Eve wanted a tea party.  They borrowed my china and had a wonderful time.

This hawk camped out on our back fence for a little while.  It was fun because he had no idea we were watching him through the window and he was really relaxed and walking around on the fence.
