When Alex & I got married, Jeff got to wear banana yellow cumberbunds with the rest of the brothers. He's never quite recovered from the humiliation and enjoys bringing up the sob story. One time I told him I'd be happy to wear one at his reception just to make him feel better. I ended up not being able to since the kids wanted to wear them all but Jeff got a kick out of it anyways.
The Thomas's put on on a lovely reception in Mesa the night of the wedding. The kids especially enjoyed the myriad of delicious things to eat and the dancing at the end. I'm not sure that the table clothes ever quite recovered from us.
The next night was the open house in St. David. We all (minus Jeff & Kelsey, of course) spent the day readying Mom & Dad's backyard for the event. It was a warm, sticky humid day so the Eegee's the Welker's brought was a welcome treat. The word of the day was "ambience" with everything having to be placed so as to add to the supposed effect. Karina & Alan tried to go on strike with their "No More Ambience" campaign. Their efforts must have been largely ignored as the evening turned out to be quite lovely.
