July 25th to August 5th we went on a vacation to visit family, old friends & places and Washington & Oregon. We had a wonderful time and took lots of pictures which will hopefully make their way in here eventually. The next Wednesday, the 10th, Bradley, Carter & Lydia started back to school. Bradley is in 4th, Carter 3rd grade, and Lydia started Kindergarten. On Friday the 12th, Uncle Jeff & Aunt Kelsey got married. That was especially fun for us because the night before, the Burgesses, Jeff and the Duane & Shirley's stayed the night with us. Carter was so pumped that at 10:00 that night he was still lying wide awake on the playroom floor saying, "Mom, my muscles are too excited, I can't go to sleep!".
Erica's high school friends Kim Young and Michelle Arnett (now ?) and Michelle's kids stopped by to visit her Thursday afternoon. There used to ba an above-ground pool in our backyard. Now the pool is gone and it's just sand and rocks surrounded by a cement edging. The kids figured out that when you turn on the hose there's a lot of fun to be had making rivers, dams, mountains, etc. Until it was time to clean up, we all had a great time.

Hopefully, you haven't had too many repeat sessions with the hose--are you still finding sand all through your house? :) Thanks again for letting us stay and invite extras--you're the best!
