Happy Birthday Bradley!

Brad turned 10 on September 15th.  All day long he kept reminding me that I now had a child in the double digits.  Brad is an awesome kid!  He's super responsible and lots of fun to be around.  I'm also always amazed at how talented he is -- whether it be cooking, photography, building things, being a peace-maker in our home, piano, school work and all the other  things he does so well.

The day before his birthday was pack meeting and Brad earned his Bear.  As part of that he had to go into the cave (tent) and wrestle the bear (Dad) to get his bear claw.  Brad went to a lot of effort to add some extra effects.  He got a white shirt and cut 3 gashes in the front and outlined them with red marker complete with drips of blood coming off the sides.  He wore that on top of a red shirt and put his uniform shirt over both of those to hide them.  When he emerged from the bear cave he'd taken off his uniform shirt and stumbled out with bloody gashes on his chest.  Gratefully, he recovered quickly
Carter, Camille, Brad, Lydia, Eve & the birthday loot.  As a side note, I guess it's time to re-read the camera manual and adjust settings because Camille managed to look like a alien in most of the pictures.

Pancakes, strawberries and whipped cream were Brad's birthday breakfast request.

Brad made and decorated his own birthday cake.  The flash makes it hard to see but it's decorated it with the bear claw and patch he got from pack meeting and has a "gash" down the middle of it from the claw.

Our neighbor, Yvonne Dudley, has the same birthday as Brad so we invited their family along with Grandma and Grandpa Matheson to join us for cake and icecream that night.

Bradley enjoys photography.  Here's a picture he had Alex take of him and our house.

Alex had to have a pciture of himself so Brad obliged and did a photo shoot.
