San Diego Again!

The kids had this last week off of school.  Monday we headed to San Diego to join Grandma & Grandpa Matheson, Uncle Lincoln & cousin Sadie at a beach house on Coronado Island.  The trip there was a little adventuresome with a flat tire (beautiful nail puncture hole) occuring early on.  Luckily we weren't on the freeway at the time & we have full-size spare.  So, after the boys & Alex showed off their tire changing skills we were on the road again.

The beach house was literally right off the beach (or "Beeee" as Camille calls it) and we spent time there almost every day.  Alex, Lincoln, Brad, Carter & Lydia did some boogie boarding & wave jumping.  Camille, Eve & Sadie favored digging in the sand.  Tuesday night we had a fun bonfire with hotdogs and smores.  The weather was foggy on Monday and Saturday but most of the week was bright and sunny so perfect beach weather.

Camille loved laying in, digging and anything else sand

Eve and Camille had great fun chasing seagulls

Lydia & Brad -- some fantastic castles were built

Lydia and her kelp hair.  We also found lots of seashells & Brad even came home with two intact sand dollars.

The lovely Lydia and her seashell.

I always love that smile of pure joy that Carter gets at the beach.

Sadie, Camille & Eve had fun burying their feet over and over.

Carter did some seagull photography.

Alex, Camille & Eve enjoy "delicious hot smoes"

Lincoln, Sadie & Carter.  We were all grateful for Uncle Lincoln's expertise in the campfire department.
