Saturday, the 21st (Happy 20th birthday on the 21st, by the way, Karina), was the annual Pioneer Day Parade. Grandma Sue was a mover and shaker in the planning and execution of the day of course so Devon, Karina, Kelsey, Jeff & Gpa Paul were recruited to carry the parade opening banner. The kids enjoyed the parade but learned an important lesson -- you get less candy if you're at the end of the parade route. Alan, Megan & Logan arrived just in time to join in for the parade and it was fun to see them.

| Kelsey made Karina a birthday sign for her horse. |
| Logan wasn't too keen on sharing the chair with Camille. |
| A float honoring our good friend Wayne Goodman. We were friends with him and his wife in Tucson. |
| Alan, Logan, Camille. This was a little more Logan's style. |
After the parade we headed back home, rode horses, played on the cottonwood tree and enjoyed a game of softball. I think some of these pictures were taken on Friday afternoon too. Then we headed to the school for the BBQ. In the afternoon I got to spend a little time with Aunt Dixie's girls. Cami, Tanya, Annie Cindy & Alma's wife Cynthia were all in town. It was so fun to see them. We headed back to Queen Creek that evening tired but happy.

| Carter does his rope tricks. I was proud of him -- he climbed almost all the way up the tire swing rope which is quite a feat. |
| Brad & Eve. |
| Sheriff Alan. |
| Desperado Devon (Cami's son Quinn thought he was pretty cool). |
| Mission accomplished. |
| Eve and Kelsey feed the horses. |
| Camille LOVED riding with Grandpa Paul. She wouldn't get off the horse for anything and to this day her eyes light up the minute we start talking about riding the horse with Grandpa Paul. |
| Jeff & Devon. What's a cowboy without his specs. |
| Carter taking his last swing on the cottonwood tire swing. Sad news is that it is no more. OK, so the tree trunk is still there but half the top came down. That's a tree full of memories -- sort of like losing an old friend. |
| Grandpa Paul at bat and Aunt Megan showing off her killer pitching skills. We all agree that the in-laws have contributed a great deal to the athleticism of the family. : ) |
