January continued . . .

It's been a fun and busy couple of weeks.  The kids had Martin Luther King day off of school so they invited their friends, the Walkers (Court, Carter & Ellie) over to play for most of the day.  A really good time was had by all.

On Friday the 20th, I got to go to a bridal shower for cousin Barbara Kartchner.  She's marrying Steven Trejo who is the little brother of one of my old friends, Angie Trejo Lee.  We hadn't seen each other for several years so it was fun to catch up.   Alex and the kids went to a good-bye party for cousin Heath Hales the same night.  He's off to the Marines and we wish him well.  The next day Alan, Megan & Logan dropped in for a surprise visit.  It was so fun to see them and Megan really held her own in the dance-off with Lydia & Eve.  Lydia informed me that Megan's got skills.  Megan's sister Michelle and her husband Chris and their two little boys came over too which doubled the fun.  To top off a great weekend, cousins Tanya & Casey Martin joined us for dinner and FHE on Monday the 23rd.  Casey made sure to wear his ASU shirt.  We let him in anyways.

Some other highlights:  Brad and Carter both had football games on the 21st.  Lydia started a little gymnastics class.  She's been practicing standing on her head.  Brad was elected class representative at STUCO (i.e. student government) at school.  He's been wanting to do it for several months now and I'm sure he'll do awesome.  Brad also gave a great talk on agency in Primary.  We've been harvesting the lemon tree. That thing has wicked thorns but it makes great lemonade.

The other day I glanced around to check on Camille but she'd disappeared.  The back door was open so I looked out and she'd found herself a spot on the lawn and was communing with the goats.  She sat there for quite a while just watching and talking to them every so often.  It was cute.

All the kids have bikes now (including Camille who inherited Eve's tricycle) and riding them is the in thing to do.   With both the basketball hoop and bikes the driveway is definitely the cool hangout spot.
