Hiking the Superstitions

During Easter break we set off to hike the Superstition Mountains at the Lost Dutchman State Park.  The wildflowers were out in force and it was a beautiful day.  We hiked trail #56 up to Green Boulder.  It was a steep climb at the end but the kids were all great hikers including Camille who hiked all but the steepest parts.
Heading out: Camille, Alex, Sophie, Brad, Lydia, Eve, Carter.

We made it!  There was a cute little family from Wisconsin at the top with us.  Their Dad secretly hid some fool's gold for his little boy to find.  At first our kids were convinced the Lost Dutchman's treasure had been discovered.

The intrepid hikers, Brad, Eve, Dad & Sophie head back down.

Carter, Alex, Sophie & Brad.  Sophie is now an experienced hiker with her second hike under her belt.  She slept through it beautifully.
