St. David Adventures

It was a quick one-day trip but we got to do lots and see lots of family and friends.  We named baby goats, and went to Breanne's Kindergarten graduation, a swimming party at the pond and then on our way out of town we went down to the school graduation day BBQ with Grandpa Paul for dinner.  Grandma Sue was busy handing out Jr. High diplomas so we got on best we could without her.  An added bonus to the day was that Jeff came down to do some jobs for Dad so we got to see him too.
Lydia, Brad & Carter name the goats

Lydia

The kids all got to pick a baby goat to name.  Brad wrote up the name and descriptions for Grandma Sue.  Brad named Mac, Carter named Rascal, Lydia named Leyla, Eve named Elizabeth (aka Lizzie) and some kind sibling named Lassie for Camille.

Aunt Shella's girls went through their old doll clothes/blankets and found these that Grandma Lois Kartchner made.  They passed them on to littler cousins.  Eve picked a bib, Camille a doll blanket and Lydia wanted the pink snow hat.  They had a fun time playing with them.

Camille & Eve.  Camille was proud to be a real swinger.

Thursday was cousin Breanne's Kindergarten graduation so the girls and I went.  It was in the old auditorium and Lydia thought it was cool that we saw a swallow and then a bat fly through.

Eve and Lydia in front of the door to my 1st grade classroom (yes, it was this room that my mom got me out of to come eat my eggs in the car because I'd snuck off to school without eating them).  The open door was my 2nd grade classroom.

Eve & Lydia on stairs outside school auditorium.  The door at the top was the projector room for when they used to play movies in the auditorium.  If I remember right there is a picture of Grandma Ouida May Lofgreen Matheson on these stairs in one of her yearbooks.

On the way home we stopped across the street from the school to visit the house where Grandma Ouida May Lofgreen Matheson grew up.  Eve, Camille & Lydia thought it was pretty cool.

Just to the east of the house is the building that the Lofgreens used to run a feed store out of.

For lunch we joined the Brubakers, and assorted cousins and friends at the pond.  Brad gave Lydia and Eve a ride on the boat.

Carter was the brave one who jumped right in.
