Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Alex and the boys dug a pit in the garden for a bonfire on Thanksgiving Eve.  It was perfect weather -- not too cold -- and everyone had a good time roasting marshmallows and preparing the coals to roast our turkey on.  Grandma and Grandpa Matheson, the Stephensons, Page's, Shumways and our friends, the Walkers, came to help us out.  Carter James Matheson had an especially good time with Carter James Walker who is nearly his twin in age, interests and obviously in name as well.

Thanksgiving afternoon we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Matheson's for a feast, games and tetherball tournament.  I hear that Carter did an outstanding job on the rope jump and Lydia was ecstatic to win a $10 Old Navy card at the family faces bingo game.

The day after Thanksgiving we went down to St. David.  The Welkers, Karina, the Jeff & Kelseys  and of course the Duane & Shirleys were there as well and we had a lot of fun with them.  Saturday there was baby shower in the morning for Shirley and in the afternoon we all went to the Gila Valley Temple.  The adults took turns doing some work and then Grandpa Paul treated us to dinner at El Charro's.  Sunday was Logan's baby blessing.  It was fun to see Megan's parents and some of her siblings again.

Thanksgiving morning Carter and I pulled the windmill -- more figuratively than literally -- in honor of Grandpa Paul's traditional Thanksgiving activity.  As you can see, the herd waited patiently for a drink while the star wars lego cowguys completed the job using a double-decker 4-wheel-drive British bus under the watchful eye of Cowgirl Karina.

It's all fun and games until somebody loses a head.  Photography by Carter.
