Happy 4th & a trip to the AZ Science Center

Here's Alex, Eve, Lydia, Carter & Brad enjoying the spread.
We celebrated the 4th of July with a patriotic breakfast. The kids made blue pancakes topped off with red strawberries and white whipped topping.

That night was a swimming party at Grandma & Grandpa Mathesons to celebrate the 4th of July and wish farewell to Uncle Monte Matheson who left this week to Georgia for several months of army training. We will miss him!

We had a wonderful time this Friday and Saturday with our Kartchner family. On Friday, Uncle Jeff & Aunt-Kelsey-to-be (on August 12th) stopped by and were kind enough to stay for dinner and a round of nerf warfare/hide-and-seek with the kids. We had a lot of fun with them & think they should stop by more often. That evening, Uncle Alan & Aunt Megan arrived and spent the night in our first-ever guest suite. It came with a complimentary lizard in the corner. The kids had accidentally let one into the basement a few days back and we were very happy to locate him. Thanks, Alan, for showing him out. Saturday, Alex fixed a fantastic breakfast and then we were off to visit the Arizona Science Center compliments of Alan & Megan's free tickets. It was great fun & we finished off strong with a visit to In-N-Out burger. We think Alan & Megan should visit more often too.
Camille tried out the pool in her patriotic swimgear. She loves a bath and since the swimming pool is a really large one it's right up her alley.

Camille & Carter had a great time playing with the mirror for above the couch. I haven't hung it yet because I need to repair it but I've found it to be a very useful babysitter in the meantime.

Hard -- Brad showing off his muscles

Harder -- Brad & Lydia.

Hardest -- Alan & Carter.

The mazes exhibit was a favorite. Eve & Lydia cheered on Carter at the rope maze.

We watched a fun demo on liquid nitrogen. Carter & Lydia take one last look.
Brad & Carter try out the balance board maze. It's harder than it looks. (Yes I'm saying that because I couldn't do it).

Eve, Brad & Lydia try out the silly mirrors in the giant maze.

Carter and the bed of nails.
