Girls Just Wanna Have Fun . . .

We have blackberry bushes at our new place and Lydia came in the other day with the berries she'd picked and begged to make a pie with them. She's only found 4 mostly ripe ones so we had to supplement a little but we had a fun time making our dough and baking it up.
Lydia with her pie!
Lydia took a hip-hop dance class this last spring. She had her recital in May. Here she is with her friend, Kylee Rapier, at the dance recital. I think her favorite part may have been the purple doughnut she got for refreshments. In our unbiased opinion, Lydia was definitely the best dancer of the bunch. She's got groove & grace.

Lydia and Eve took one of the bars out of their closet and Lydia taught Eve a ballet class.

When the boys were still in school we girls had some girls-only picnics. Here's Lydia, Eve and Camille giving a thumbs up to a great meal.
We had a bumper crop of peaches. It was so fun to grab one right off the tree whenever we wanted.

I tell the kids that Sophie the Doghouse is the best pet we ever had. She's extremely low maintenance, never digs holes, barks, bites or chews up shoes. The Carrolls took Sophie the Dog with them when they moved and despite the fact that Sophie the Dog is a sweetheart, most days I'm pretty sure we got the better end of the deal. We also inherited Rootbeer the cat from the Carrolls. He/She ( I haven't checked) stays fat on gophers and is friendly as can be -- definitely our kind of cat.
Lydia and Eve have lots of fun together -- except for when they don't, of course. Dress-up, dance class, school and "Momma" (Lydia is Mom, Eve is Baby or Tenna -- the name of their imaginary friend) are the favorites. I love my girls!
