Easter Day, April 2011

The Easter Bunny found us in St. David and hid eggs for the kids in Grandma Sue's living room. Gratefully he went light on the candy. Eve went to Safeway in Benson with me the day before and they had a Easter Bunny there as part of a fundraiser. She got to shake his hand and got a piece of candy from him. She was very impressed. We went to church with Grandma & Grandpa and got to listen to Grandma Sue speak in Sacrament Meeting which was a treat.

The day before Easter Grandpa Paul went riding at the ranch and found a little calf. She was about a week old and with her mom but for some reason the mom was making almost no milk so she was starving. We put her out on the back lawn. It took a little doing to teach her to take a bottle but once she figured it out she was a fan. 

Grandma Sue had a lamb cake form to make a cake for Easter dinner so Julie & Carter took on the job of decorating the finished product. Erica's superior skill would've come in handy.

Carter did the frosting for most of the face. He has great skill with the icing bag.

When we headed back home to Queen Creek that night we had extra cargo in the form of Chiquita the goat and her twin kids, Chuck and Charlotte. Grandma Sue shared her goats with us and my kiddos were pretty excited. We transported them in the back of the van. We took out the back seat, put a tarp and towels down and then put a portable fence in to contain them. the first 20 minutes of the trip we got to listen to the goats bleating and Eve saying, "Qui-det!" Gratefully they all settled down and went to sleep after that.
