Rifle Here we come!

Friday, June 29th, we set off on a road trip adventure.  We drove to Flagstaff the first night.  Our friends, the Starks kindly lent us the code to their garage and their empty beds (they were visiting family in Utah).  The kids really liked their fish tank.

Saturday we set off on the 9 hour drive to Rifle to visit our Burgess cousins.  Overall, the kids were fabulous travelers although we did use about 5 packs of fun fruits to placate Camille the last hour of the drive.  We passed the wildfire that was along the freeway between Grand Junction & Rifle.  We got to see them doing what looked like a backburn but luckily it was pretty well under control.

The kids had a wonderful time together.  The boys are all Star Wars fans and the girls played dolls and house to their hearts content.  On Monday we hiked Rifle Falls sans Chad who had forgotten to coordinate his schedule with ours and had to work.  The kids had a wonderful time.

There were a couple little caves.  Aunt Erica and I tried to keep Camille, Kira & Eve happy in the little one but they would have none of that and had to take a tour of the larger, flashlight worthy one.

Callie asked me to take a picture to document her loose tooth at the top of the falls.

Alex played taxi on the way back to the car.  Camille was cute and kept tickling Eve.
