Summer Days

Summer is flying!
We've had fun playing with cousins -- the Stephensons, Welkers, Mulleneauxs and Lees.  Camille learned how to climb up on the bunkbed by herself.  I wouldn't be quite as worried if she didn't dance when she got there.  Camille has also mastered the whereabouts of her head, nose and bellybutton.  Eve got to go to a birthday party for her friend Marshall Secrist.  She was very concerned about what to wear and changed her clothes only 4 or 5 times before heading off for the big-kid event.  When she got there she announced to Marshall's dad, Kenny, "I'm late.  I couldn't decide what to wear."  She looked fantastic in a brown dress and white cardigan.

Lydia has had fun taking a swimming class with her friend Kylee Rapier.  The report is that Lydia has no fear when it comes to the diving board and pool slide.  Brad and Carter have had a lot of fun playing with friends.  Brad has started to learn how to type and is doing really well.  Carter can usually be found on the music room couch lost in a Warriors book.  We all enjoyed cheering for the UofA baseball team at the regionals and now in the College World Series.

The boys had a Pack meeting on the 13th.  Carter received his Wolf.  He's worked hard for it and we're proud of him.  Brad is almost done with his Weblos badge.  He's put a lot of time this week into earning some additional acheivements so he can qualify for the World Conservation badge as well as his Arrow of Light.  On Saturday morning Alex, Brad & Carter went to the Gilbert Water Ranch Riparian area and went on an early morning birdwalk.  They had a great time.  I think the favorites were the green & blue herons, the killdeer and the Inca dove.  At least those are the ones I've heard the most about.
Kurtis Welker and Carter were a good match in the water war.

Camille and Lydia.

Camille, Eve & Lydia try out a pony the Hamblins passed on to us.

Haskell Dudley and Carter "wolf" down some Sasquatch blood (aka strawberry syrup) compliments of Bro. Thomas.  I believe this is billed as the final test before receiving your Wolf award.

Carter pins his Wolf pin on me.  Sweet boy -- he gave me big hug right after that.

We made strawberry and peach jam.  This little guy escaped for a quick photo shoot with the dentist.  Carter & Alex.
