Conversations

Just a few small snippets from the past few weeks

Lydia, Eve & Mom pull up to the store for groceries.
L: Oh no, I forgot my money!
M: I brought some.
L: Good, then you can buy the Tinkerbell chapstick.
M: Oh no Sweetie, that's not what we came for today.
L: But Mom, princesses always have to have chapstick.
M: I have some here you can use. (It's the regular/non-Tinkerbell kind)
Lydia applies some and gives a big smile.
L: Do I look like a princess now?!

Lydia walks into the room yesterday, "The fair princess has arrived."

I was getting ready to go to a bridal shower for our friend Karlee Jenson. Lydia asked me, "Is this a shower for Karlee, Porter's sister, or for Monte's friend Karli that we don't know?" Uncle Monte had recently started dating Karli Flake and while he thought he was keeping it on the down-low not much escapes a 3 year old.

In the kitchen, Brad notices a VHS movie G-ma Sue passed on to us.
B: You got the Brother Bear movie?!?
M: You don't like that one?
B: No, I like it, I was just astonished!

"Hi Daaad!" (Eve said this with her arms outstretched to Alex when he got home this week)

And here's the day that inspired me to start this blog in the first place.

Mom, Lydia & Carter are having bean burritos for lunch.
C: Owwww!!! (looking at his empty left hand)
M: What happened?
C: I thought the burrito was in that hand.

Moments later I look up to see Lydia dividing her burrito in half. She places each one carefully on her plate while saying to herself, "One for me and one for me."

one for me and one for me--I didn't hear that part of the story before--she must be a REAL princess.
